Anyone remember "blow football"?
Using a straw to blow a ball into the opponents net whilst your opponent did the same to get the ball into your net. I used to be knackered playing this. |

May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

That used to a great laugh. I seem to remember some kids who weren't able to blow properly and they'd dribble spit out of the straw......

You were not supposed to use a real full- size soccer ball Pat. You were supposed to play it on a table with a little ball.

Who remembers "Bang Bang"?
A FEW MONTHS ago, a Phibsborough café and deli called Bang Bang began crowdfunding to honour their namesake Thomas Dudley. Thomas Dudley was known by most as Bang Bang. He was an eccentric Dubliner born in 1906 who grew up in an orphanage. He was best known for his charming ability to get a bus full of grown adults to fake their death after he pretended to shoot them with a brass key that he referred to as his Colt .45. Bang Bang carried his key everywhere he went and would shoot anyone he met, always receiving a positive reaction to his antics. Café owners Grace and Daniel Lambert decided to name their business after Bang Bang and even included his famous key as a central part of their logo. |

You have to remember, we wasted half of our school life learning Gaeilge and being punished.

And catechism lessons where you were told Protestants are evil and reminded constantly of burning in the fires of hell for eternity.

All this talk of the dangers of melting tar due to the warm weather brings back memories of melting tar between the concrete on the road outside my home using a magnifying glass.
And using same magnifying glass to burn ice pop sticks. |
