I cant wait for "the colour of magic"...didnt realise it will be on SKY.  Nice one.

For anyone that might be interested, there is a "text only" online Multi-user discworld game (which I havent played for a while, but it's great).  The discworld game site can be found at discworld.atuin.net

So....what did people think of 'The Colour of Magic'?

I have to say, I thought the casting was great. I'm not a big fan of David Jason but he did a good job as Rincewind. The same goes for Sean Astin as Twoflower, although I couldn't resist throwing out Lord of the Rings references everytime he was on screen, lol!

Christopher Lee was very well suited to the voice of Death and Tim Curry, as always, made a wonderful villain. My favourite of all though was Jeremy Irons as the Patrician, Lord Vetinari. Pure genius casting, nobody else could play him.

It was excellently done, especially as it was actually two books, Colour of Magic and Light Fantastic. It worked very well. Can't wait to see what else they do. My son told me there's a rumour they're going to do 'Going Postal'. Personally I'd like to see something that features and City Watch. I'm dying to see who they get to be Sam Vimes.

How about Ray Winstone as Vimes?  Could be fun.

Tim Winstone would be a good choice. When I'm reading the books I find I visualize Bruce Willis as Vimes. Lol!

Don't worry Mel. Sky are a dab-hand at recycling their programmes. Keep an eye out for it on Sky Two. Alternatively, it should be out on dvd in a few months.

Ray Winstone, sounds like perfect casting as Vimes
and David Bradley (Argus Filch in Harry Potters) as Foul Ol' Ron.
Pete Postletwaite as CMOT Dibbler!
Peter Wight (was in Early Doors as lazy police man) as Sgt Colon

All good choices Finno;

I missed it too Mel but be sure that it will pop up again as Jen says.  I'll have the DVD recorder ready when it does so if you need a copy I'm sure I can get it.

Fair play Col!  We can also record it on the Sky+ box as well if I spot it in time, next time!   Knowing me, I'll miss it again!

Wyrd Sisters

Went to the above last night. Really enjoyed it very funny. For those who know the story, the members of the Thieves Guild and the three "Actor witches" from Ankh Morpork were all given flat Dublin accents.
