Just as a new discussion point - where are all the other members that joined over the past year and more. The forum is becoming incestous !! As of 16:20 on 26/9/2006 there were 390 approx members, of these only 89 have posted once or more. Thats only 22% of members. Of thoses posts 14% are from one member - Rolo. A further analysis shows us that over 50% of all post here are from just 8 members only .......... Lets have your commens posters !! The Grove Social Club Forum - a very cosy family (sic!) By the way I'm not part of the top 50% . I wonder why ?

Statistics can be deceiving, Hogo. See, many moons ago, a friendly moderator turned the clock back on one or two of the regulars post count and don't forget, the eight members you're talking about and possibly one or two more ( see above ) have been hanging around here for months. But, the essence of what you are saying is correct and maybe now,since the documentary, more people will become regular posters. Rolo. |

Sorry Rolo I just do'nt buy the turning the speedo back excuse. As regards hanging around for two months or more thats not true either there are scores of members who log on but do'nt post . What are they afraid of ....... getting a reply from you ? Hey Miss Smith, You are not even part of the Elite Eight at the moment - 66 posts since 20/9/2006 - Rolo - Member for 414 days with 3268 posts - at your rate however you will soon be Number One with 4140 posts after 414 days - does that make you feel good you will be burnt oit you know ! Have to say when I logged on first took me awhile of just looking before I started posting and just did "word" one for ages . But once you start its hard to stop. Have been just a bunch of regulars until lately what with the documentry and interviews etc people have started logging on and posting so tell your friends all welcome Plus takes a lot of hard work and deication to come on here and post everyday after all should be working !!!!!!!! ------------- Blondie I generally avoid temptation unless I can't resist it ! |

My take, for what its worth, If people visiting the site want to post little or lots then great, its their call! The nature of forums is that you will always have a majority who will register and either not post or only post once. This does not mean that they are not visiting the forum. Every forum will have people 'lurking'. I know on another forum I run that some lurkers have waited over two yuears before registering yet still visited frequently. Most forums will also have the opposite - people who devote a lot of time into building it into a community. I have to say that without the Elite Eight (I don't understand where you coined this phrase from - what makes them elite?) this forum would not be what it is. These people have helped build this forum into what it is. Without their input many others may not have joined in discussions. Anyhow, I would bet that they show little difference from those of other forums. I know with another of my forums ( http://www.bmw-board.co.uk - www.bmw-board.co.uk ) the total number of users is 8772 and total posts is currently 305684. Of these, the top 5 posters (including myself) have posted 32464 posts which is over 10%! Short of 2,000 have not yet posted!
I only altered one members post count IIRC (at their request) -------------
