Good suggestion Shar!  I hope that this Poll might help us gauge the date on which most Forumers can make the drinks night-out!

Hey Mel and Shar....good idea doing the poll. Well Saturday 2nd Dec seems to be the best so far....but will hold off another few days before I book our babysitter (just in case).
I presume "the Nep" is still the watering hole that we shall all quench our thirst in?

Nep sounds good to me! Haven't been in since we moved house (May)....but I reckon nothing has changed....still the best JukeBox around. PLUS we'll all manage to get seats together (now I do sound old wanting a seat)

Unfortunately, as already indicated, can't do either date but I'll be nice and won't throw another spanner in the works by voting for an alternative date.bigcry

Feel free to put up any date that you would prefer gang, that's sorta the reason for the poll.

A lot of viewers and not much voting going on! Just chucking in a comment to get it back on top of Active Pile.

Its a 'sticky' topic, June, so it should stay up but I see your point re lots of views/few votes.  People need to check re sitters etc., I suppose.

Whoooaaa!!! What's this...a Nep re-union??? I was working in Belfast all week and didn't get to check the site...now I log in and there's loads going on. Wouldn't a Nep night be cool? The current locals wouldn't know what hit them. Father whatzisname would need to be there, though (is he still with us?) and Paddy of course. I remember a  Terry barman. And who was the girl who used to serve? Theresa???

Lynn (my lovely missus) drew the short straw babysitting for Halloween re-union and was raging afterwards. (we got tickets for Christmas though-whahay!!) and if I suggest a Nep night then maybe she will insist that night will be her turn!

Got to say one thing...the Grove (and now the Nep?) definitely live on thanks to this cool site. Feels like being part of the old gang!

Oh-I was a sheep just now and voted for the 2nd-brought it up to 70%

Hi guys.....I know that not everyone can make Sat 2nd Dec....and for those who can't....well we can do it all over again in January or Feb or whatever night or month suits.
Like Finno said earlier I found it very hard to have a conversation with anyone with all the "brilliant" music been played....it will be nice to sit and be able to talk and have a few quiet drinks with friends

Nothing wrong with doing it once every one or two months or so...after all,how will 450 of us fit into the Nep???

Pat-where you off to? (might have missed some of your posts)

You could surely make a night in the new year???

Yeah Susanne, anyone can go of course! Re recognising people, I think downstairs in the Nep is pretty small and you'll probably be able to recognise most, if not all, of us (just check out the Halloween photos) as soon as you walk in!.

Hey Martin, wasn't it Audrey? Always in good form! I remember the priest all right! Paddy and Terry. Remember Marcus and Dave Power (rip) both from Kerry.

Susanne - most of us only met up briefly for the 1st time 2 weeks ago, so you won't be a stranger!

Yes! Audrey. The 'urban legend' everyone used to spin was...'she's Paddy's daughter, you know...' just to sound like they were in the know.

(She wasn't ,sure she wasn't?)

Haven't seen the priest in there in years (you'll be in for a shock the place has been "Done up") and Paddy had a heart attack about 2 years ago ...was supposed to retire...then came back but think they wanted to make him part time or something (around the tiem the Nep onlyl started opening weekends) so last I saw him he was working in the Ha'penny Bridge Inn.

Of course!!! I only met people at the last reunion. As Mel suggested check out the photos but seriously the Nep is Tiny, You'd spot a mouse in there. If you're really stuck just ask the barman...we'll make ourselves known. Looking forward to meeting you.

Poor Paddy.Did have pints there the night of the last Australian Pink Floyd Show in the Point.Yeah-done up is right but it still has that 'feel' about it.Still very homey or homely or something. You feel like you can kick off your boots and put your feet up.

And Susanne797 (dying to know where that username is from) now you have to come...we'll all buy you a pint!

Hey bluebell for what its worth I'd go with 50percent on the 2nd you're never going to find a night that suits everyone tried it before.

Can always do another night as well no rule so only one

Seems there's 6 in one and half a dozen in the other...As the re-union is on 27th that might 'satisfy' the craving and then the Nep night could be delayed slightly. On the other paw,we might all be itching for more after the re-union and can't wait for the nep night...(does that make sense?)

Oh,what to do...

(I'm still a sheep-once its on I'll go.)

Of course we could just go down to St Annes have 2 cans of Harp and a bottle of Bulmers a packet of polo mints and see if our respective partners will let us back in.

After all we might not get served in the Nep…..
