Well it's not much but at least it's not going unnoticed. Our save Marty
campaign has been mentioned on page 7 of today's Irish Sun.

Each day there are a few barbed comments worth listening to. Will go back to listening to radio 4 when he's gone - kids will probably want to listen to Beat fm but I wont.

I am here in Zurich and I heard the new show that replaced Marty on the internet, it is a load of crap, What were they thinking of when they made this decision.

I liked Marty when I could listen to him. Unfortunately in work there is no streaming audio but anytime I can I listen on ther net.

I had meant to add to this thread: I sent off the petition details to the 'petition mistress' who will be forwarding them and others to the idiots in RTE.
"The Colm & Jim Jim Breakfast Show" will be starting next week IIRC. What kind of muppet would publicly call themselves "Jim Jim"?

Out of morbid curiosity, I checked the details of the new breakfast show on a press release on the 2FM website and I was just so annoyed to read them gloating about the fact that the new radio show would be more appealing to the (obviously very important for their ratings) 15-34 age group.  Oh well, guess they dont want me as a listener then.

Well I have started listening to Ian Dempsey on Today fm again....I forgot just how funny he is in the morning, but I do miss Marty and little Marty and the rest of the gang.
I agree with you over the name of the new show "Colm and Jim Jim !!!!" hope their rating drop right down

The idiot girl said that the Ryan Line should be reclaimed back as she seemed to believe that the line was 2FM. I found it rather distasteful and gloaty.

I really hope it all fails, mainly because of this arrogance.

The new program is crap and I don't see how it will attract any audience. I hope it dies a slow death. I don't know what John Clark was thinking about when he made these changes.

I listen to Drive Live on DCALFM(Anna Liva FM) Every morning and the play great music and no waffle only upto the minute traffic reports. They play great music too AC/DC Bowie,  U2, Metallica o the other end of the extreme like Frank Sinnatra and Nina Simone its is quite good. Also people do be texting in traffic reports and funny comments.

When you are stuck on the M50 every morning its handy to know what the traffic is like. Flick to Ian on TodayFM aswell

I will now listen to newstalk and Phantom.
Strangely, Marty was one of the few programs on 2fm that I liked listening to.
My true pet hate is that gobshíte Gogan and his golden shower! Does anyone actually like listening to the man?

I always like Larry Gogan, a real genuine man and one who never lost the common touch. You have to give credit where credit is due. I used to listen to 2FM on the internet especially for him. I loved his show.

I will miss him.

So did we do anything to help actually 'Save Marty'???

Did like him I have to admit, also admit listening to Tubridy in the morn but never 'Plastic Pat' on 1. Mostly,Ian Dempsey and then Ray on Today FM. Ever listen to Fix it Friday on Today FM? Trivia buffs will love it.
