I was wondering where everybody got their username from ? Mine is easy. My name is Pat and I drive a large motorbike as my favourite hobby and have always had a love for driving a motorbike. Hence Biker Pat Be interested to know what's behind all your usernames. Maybe there's a funny story ..... Biker Pat

Crusty's been my nickname since 1st class in primary school. Simply

I wanted to pick one based on a Grove song (and somehow 'Paranoid', ‘Psycho Killer’ & 'Lay Lady Lay' didn't really give the right impression). Off the top of my head, I thought Lola was a nice enough name. However, on recent closer inspection of the lyrics I suddenly realised the connotations – "But I know what I am and I’m glad I’m a man, And so is Lola" (I'm female!). MMMMmmm….must have a think about changing it. Biker Pat, I think you deserve an award for being the most enthusiastic board member and trying to encourage interaction on the board! |

On Usernames, Someone in school ( David's,Artane ) used to call me Rolo and I met him for the first time in about 10 years around the time I joined the site. Just revived memories of my Grove years 1979 - 1986. On areas , originally Artane , now Killester. ( Very adventurous you see.) Anyway, looking forward to Sunday Night. Missed the last two through no fault of my own. Rolo.

Hiya Biker Pat. I picked my name after the girl in "The Lost Boys". I remember as a really young teenager thinking she was the most beautiful , cool girl I had ever seen and I loved her name and always wanted her name and to be like her. I play role-playing games (both the tabletop Dungeons and Dragons game and online games) and Brunswick is a name I often/always use. Was just going to call myself by my real name (i.e. Mel) but I am so used to logging in everywhere as Brunswick, that I just decided to stick with that.

LOL Pat! Believe me, I've had countless guys/girls over the years asking me if "Brunswick" related to any or all of the following: 1. A town called Brunswick in the States 2. Brunswick Street in Dublin 3. A printing shop in Dublin called "Brunswick Press" 4. Bowling (apparently the word "Brunswick" appears on bowling balls!) 5. My favourite, apparently there's a "cellar brewery" in Edinburgh called Brunswick something (not sure what a "cellar" brewery is but presumably they make beer so that will do for me!!) In any case, its just the character name that I use in the games I play

well...mine is simple...was trying to think of something funny this morning to log on as cos I wanted to surprise herself (bluebell). Blondie, I hadn't seen this thread until now, so posted my username explanation in the wrong place....Ooops. So here it is in the right place. Esthalon was the name of my first ever roleplaying character (an Elf) who was killed by Orcs (nasty foul creatures). Twas a tragic demise. They impaled her....it wasn't pretty. Hi Lorri I dont know Mel either least dont think I do. Had'nt meet anyone on web site before but have to say having been very brave and venturing along to last reunion to meet up with the mad bunch had a really great time Yeh Esthalon went looking for this thread earlier to see if you had posted.
