Hi Guys,
As promised, some extra curricular activity outside of the reunions, and here's the first - An Evening With Cecil. This is a pilot show, it will be a live internet broadcast (audio and video) in the form of a chat show. It will be hosted by Muller with main guest Cecil and a panel of a couple of websiters (whose name were picked from a hat - don't worry, it'll be your turn next!) and hopefully extra special guest, director of More Than A Feeling - The Grove Documentary, Mr.Joe McElwaine. It will be interactive, light chit-chat about whatever we decide to talk about on the night but generally Grove and music related. We'll also be dipping into Cecil's record collection and spinning one or two tracks. So get those thinking caps on and come up with some interesting questions for our guests and lets have some fun.
An Evening With Cecil will be broadcast live on Tuesday June 3rd at 8.30pm Irish "Summer / Daylight Saving Time.
To interact, post questions and comments on the evening, you'll see a box beside the broadcast picture, just click in it and type. YOU DON'T HAVE TO REGISTER TO LEAVE A COMMENT.

was a great evening, thoroughly enjoyed it - would be great to have some SHREE girls from 77-79 next time round - if any of you log into this site - since lots of people don't know what Shree was - but in our Grove days (77-79) it was as much Grove as Led Zeppelin was - thanks Andy, Cecil & Co. for a wonderful evening and keep us posted - all the very best!

Now that would be telling, it was a good thing James our soundman had the mics off, that's all I'll say!
I'd just like to say thanks to all for watching and participating last night. A huge thanks to Aries, Brunswick, Floyd, Joe and Muller for their time. A huge thanks to James on sound too, great job my friend. Sorry if I missed reading some of your comments, but hey, that's live internet broadcasts for you. Next time I'm going to up the video quality and hope it doesn't affect the streaming. If anyone wants to watch last night's show they can click on the link up at the top of of this thread and you'll find it there.
And finally, Cecil just texted me to thank you all for a great night and in particular Floyd for the lift home.
Well done one and all!

Enjoyed it, but was surprised at how long it was. Thought it would be 30 minutes or an hour tops. Some really good stories and funny also.
I kept waiting for Mel to look at his watch and do a runner for the train!
When listening to Joe talking about the documentary and saying the "middle" period being a bit flat as not as many heads of that time responded. Can I say first I knew of the website was when I watched the documentary and it was my sister rang me to say the Grove was on the telly. Went on the site within 5 minutes of the end of the programme.

Someone mentioned during the show that the late 70s to early 80s Grove generation were a 'lost generation' in the Grove documentary - that was happily not the case during the webcast and going by the contributions to this forum here it looks as if many of us have returned. The early and late Grovers wouldn't have known what 'Shree' was all about!! Like Finno, I too only came upon an RTE Radio 1 advertisement for the documentary by chance and then had it recorded in my absence, to watch a couple of months later on. They were formative and memorable years - a big hello to my old Shree girl friends Bernie and Irene if they ever happen to come upon this site. All the very best from a humid and subtropical Deutschland!

Great show lads!..checked my Email a bit late so watched the recorded
version on the 6th. I got a huge thrill when Cecil remembered how the posters
came about in the old Grove as I was one of the "Carroll" culprits who
painted a few of them...What better fate that they should end in flames...also
a little mention of me introducing the Lad from the documentary with the brown
jacket (Derek Farrell) to the place. This is as close to fame as I am ever going
to get so I'm posting this link to everyone I know....I might even post it to
people I don't know. Glad to hear Eejit got a word in as she was the person
who introduced me to this place.
