In 2005 I was reintroduced to Cecil by a friend who told me that Cecil generally is found at Austin's stand in O'Connell St.
As I worked on O'Connell St I decided to check him out. He was there and to cut a long story short, he told me about the website.
So I checked it out and joined up in April 2005.
So how did anyone else discover the site?

I used to search for a Grove website but could never find one - then around August 2006, Roundy told me about this place - never looked back since (of course, our firewall now blocks this site in work but that's a different story).
Nice topic Pat!

While I was saying my prayers one night I prayed to god that a Grove
website would be started. Next morning there it was on my screen.

Was down the chipper round Christmas 2005 just after second was born, feeling like death warmed up from lack of sleep. Saw a notice about a Grove Trbiute Night and a website. Decided that it sounded great but now just right now
Logged on a number of times but never posted. Saw a reference to a documentary and started following in earnest
Eventually started posting nearly a year later and the site has never been the same again (good or bad you can decide )

I used to view a sports forum where people spent their whole time trying to unmask people's identities and send emails to work etc. Took me a while to make sure that this place was safe from nutters and only people who just wanted a natter
And I'm dead shy, you're right

out of curiousity,I had tried Googling "grove" with no success, then I saw a banner outside St.Bridgits primary school advertising a reunion in Shieling hotel, which I went to,and at the reunion, there were flyers advertising upcoming Grove reunion, and Grove tribute nights, that Andy used do on his own once a month in Issac Butts, and it was on one of those flyers that I saw the website address, and after a few months lurking,I took the plunge and joined up,and havent looked back,I have met some wonderful people, and had some great nights out since joining,so thanks to the boys and girls involved,ye know who ye are

Something similar DAYO,Lynch's one night on the way home from HBs.
Was a little apprehensive at first as I'd never done the Internet Social Networking thing before as I was afraid that it would be full of weirdos and loonies.
Wasn't too far off the mark then .

Yeah - quite a few there that no longer post in here - but, as I said in another thread, they departed en-masse for the Facebook Grove page (that's your fault Peter Gaynor...haha). Some of the above named still go to the reunions though but some of them seem to vanished from the Grove scene entirely - in fairness, they all have their lives to lead but I miss the craic on here when we had everyone on here - found it hard to get any work done though, because I kept jumping back in here.
