Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou!!! To everybody who
turned up last night and made this night an even
bigger success than the Christmas special! What an
atmosphere! We've loads of footage both photos and
video! As soon as we get a chance they'll be up on
the site. And Cecil's just been on, saying how much
he enjoyed it and how surprised he was at the huge
response. It was great to see so many people there,
from all generations having such a ball. There were
people there from the original Grove, back in the late
60's right up to the poor unfortunates who missed
Cecil's reign and only had experienced "Club G" (the
post Grove club). Also thanks to those of you who
listened and called/texted in to Newstalk 106FM this
morning, it was great to hear all the stories!
Take care and thanks again.

Hey there...

Thanks for a super fantastic night...my neck is killing me from all the messin'. I started going to the Grove in 92' and still have my grove card..( I was only 13 so Shhh...) I never asked mother could I go so I asked her last night for the craic and she still said no! All my brother's went and would come home with hickeys on their necks and she reckoned it was never going to be a place for the girls...so I'd have to read cinema reviews before I went to the Grove so when she quizzed me I could tell her all about the film I hadn't gone to see..

The atmosphere was so friendly unassuming and energetic..as people get older their situations change but last night was like everyone was young broke & deliriously happy..Thanks a million...

I'd forgotten what it was like to wake up on a Sunday
(Monday) morning with not just a sore head but a stiff
neck from all the head banging. With or without the
hair it was just as much fun, nearly too much fun! My
body's still in shock from all that moshing. Great
tunes! Can't wait til the next one!

I'll just add my thanks to the long list.  It was a brilliant night - - neck still very sore.  I wasn't at the Christmas gig as didn't hear about it till it was over but will deffo be at the next one - - along with a lot of mates who couldn't make the Easter gig. You might have to get a bigger hall - - 'St Pauls?'.  It was great seeing Cecil again - - he hasn't changed a bit.

Well done to all the organisers - - can't wait for the next one.

Clap

I was in Ireland at Easter but did not know before hand that this event would take place. I was even in the Old Shieling hotel that night. I was very upset notto have been dressed for the occasion.

Many a great night was had in the Grove, one of the best clubs at the time in the whole of Ireland.

Well Sharon, the answer to your question is that I
don't actually know. I had a dream about it only two
nights ago, believe it or not. So I think it's time I
started organising another one. I'm thinking July,
then Hallowe'en, then sometime around Christmas,
maybe New Years or maybe in between Christmas
Day and New years. That the rough schedule for the
year. Keep an eye on the site for a July date.
Thanks,
Crusty.
