Around 1987-88,does anybody remember the Rock Show on N.D.C.R. every Thirsday night?

It was broadcast from 10pm to 1am every week on 100 FM and had such features as Put Your Music Where Your Mouth is, (listeners would come up and introduce their fave rock tunes),Zep twin spin,(two in a row from Zep because, well, one is never enough),Prog Out, (a half hour dedicated to an epic half an album side long track, usually Pink Floyd or Rush) and even a slow set.

Perfect Grove Songs,(except it was on a Thursday night)

Anyone remember it?

Or does anyone remember the two presenters???

No takers???

One presenter was Buck Dharma,a pseudonym he 'borrowed' from Blue Oyster Cults guitarist, and the other presenter...

<dublin accent > North Dublin Community Radio </dublin accent>

I thought you also had an afternoon show. And the only non-rock music you had was a Madona album

Don't forget "put your music where your mouth is" on the rock show. Where Joe Public would bring in their own music and have 5mins of air.

There has to be someone on the forum that has done this....

The Rock Show on NDCR - that was you Floydman!!!! Great show and fair play for bringing some decent music to the masses.

Didn't do the "Put your music where your mouth is" myself but do remember a few guys (who I've now lost track of) doing that slot.

Do you guys remeber the adverts on NDCR? One sticks in my mind for the coal depot next door to NDCR. Went along the lines of:

<Dub Accent> "Christmas is coming and the nights is getting black, time to fill your bunker with anthracite or slack - what d'ya think of me poem? - Ah throw it on the fire!" Classic

What happened to the show? In fact what happened to NDCR? Did the two finish at the same time?

Yup...that was us...me and Buck. NDCR failed to obtain a licence in 1988 so the Rock Show and NDCR hung up its cans then. Plenty of drunken broadcasts on the last day!

I believe the final track ever was Europe-the Final Countdown, and the dying seconds of that song echoed 'It's the Final Count...count...count ...count...'  and that was it! Dead Air!!

Pete..not sure of any Devils Disciples who DJ'd there...not mixing NDCR with NEAR FM?
