as we all heard yesterday, our dear friend and Grove family member Biker Pat passed away yesterday... his cremation will take place this Friday at 12:30 in Dardistown cemetery... I'll be there,as I'm sure a lot of Grovers will... a meet up after his ceremony would be welcome by me,if anyone would like to meet up to celebrate Pat's life ?

Hiya Sean, nice thought. I'll be driving  up and down from the sticks, but happy to nibble at a coffee or something after, if somewhere close/handy and a few are up for it ...

Hi Gerry and Sean, yes the weather was really bad and better safe than sorry. I went also today and to the funeral home yesterday. I got to meet Pats sons and also Marjie and a few grovers yesterday. They had pictures of Pat on a screen slideshow and plenty of grove photos. Was the service today on line? Hopefully it was and folks could watch it. They did a lovely service.  Pat's manu jersey with Ronaldo on the back...you couldnt make it up....and his grove T-shirt. As Erin said todayon FB, godspeed Pat. RIP.

Many thanks Brian - I was really annoyed to miss Pats ceremony but I couldnt ignore orange warnings, too far away to be messing with it. And in the way of things I got caught up in other stuff then...
I'm sure, though, that Sean mentioned, maybe on FB, that he saw it live-streamed.
I hope there is some "essence" of Pat  that will endure - either in the religious sense of a hereafter, or, in a lovely expression I heard somewhere, that he will transform into "light and energy". He will surely be missed, a pillar of the Grove community gone - to hopefully a better existence.
We will plan to meet up sooner rather than later...

thankfully I was able to watch online, it was an emotional service for me,as Pat meant a lot to me... as his son said, Pat got to see Manchester United beat Liverpool one last time before he passed away, and as a Liverpool fan,I'm happy his team beat my team that day...I think his words were "always a good day when we beat those Scouse bastards" r.i.p. Pat,I'll never forget you 🤘
