Just out of curiosity, I have added a poll to see how many people would be happy to use the button Factory as a new venue for the grove reunions? Personally, I really liked it as a venue, and would go there again without any problems. A mate of mine who was there was appreshensive about going to it, but afterwards said it was one of the best nights hes had in ages. I also think that the location is a moot point, as once you have Cecil/Andy/grovers/grove music and alcohol you could have the grove anywhere..... :) |

Wasn't at it but voted anyway. By all accounts it is the perfect venue and even tho' its on the wrong side of the river, it may attract more grovers to go into town and see the reunions advertised.

You're dead right,Lenny-it could be on the moon once those key ingredients are there. Authentic to have it near Clontarf,yes-but other than that I saw no real problem at all with The Button Factory (other than I was dying with a head cold!) Nice to hear it'll be all our own on Christmas. |

Sinders Your very welcome. Yeh the only downside seems to be taxis, but if the nitelink is on that could be cheaper for all concerned. If someone was on their own or just two of them we could get a post going to share so that a few people would be going for the same bus or taxi ?? Just a thought |

Button Factory gets a vote from me. Was a bit weird, as the last time i has been there was a gig about 18 months ago when it was still the Music Centre, needless to say, i was quite surprised and impressed with the way they did it up.

I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about the change of venue but after last Sunday night I would say the problems with Chraobh Chiarain were a blessing in disguise. The Button Club was brilliant. I think I can get over the south location, I can get over the fact that Burgerking on Grafton St. is not a patch on Lynchs in Killester and I can cope with walking to Amiens St. to get a taxi. The positives definetly outweigh the negatives. The Button Club gets my vote. |
