This is a great site, and brings back gas memories of all those years ago.  However, I am getting a sneaking feeling that the people visiting the site are probably in their mid to late thirties, and early forties.  Would I be correct, I wonder???!!!!!

Speaking personally on behalf of myself,I have to agree with Colettemc on the issue of age etc.

Reading some of the contributors favourite songs,Smiths,REM,Faith No More etc.,definitely not from my era, 79 - 85,( I know,I know, six years, would probably still go at 40 if I could.)

We were more familiar with Ace of Spades,Alternative Ulster and of course Jammin'.

I don't know about this when I viewed the re-union photo's in the Gallery I reckoned some of them weren't even born when I was going to The Grove.I actually found it a bit off putting as it wouldn't encourage me to go to one cos I'd feel too old at 42??

Could someone post some older photo's???

Don't even know if I'd know anyone now to go to it with

Hiya,

I thought that at the Halloween night there were a lot of people in there early forties. I'm 31 (that's my little rocker Sophie by the way as my Avatar, she's a good bit older now - 16 mths).

It's a good mix of ages that seem to go but not many that I recognised. Great moshes, there needs to be more girls in the moshes cos I always feel I'm the only one.

I agree with the statement made earlier that Zeppelin are the best,my favourites , I love them too much and it's "Nobody's Fault But Mine"...Sorry couldn't stop myself.

Crusty, what makes someone a Newbie or a Senior Member???

Hi Star,

As a member of the  " early forty " group you referred to,who still thinks Zeppelin are the best and who managed, despite these old bones,to participate in some of the moshes 'cos I was dragged in by my kid brother,I can tell you that it takes forty posts to get from a Newbie to a Groupie and another sixty to become a Senior Member.

There's a regular few at it most days,( I know, sad isn't it ) but it's a bit of a laugh.

You can actually rank the member list by posts to determine the most addicted.

Rolo.

Yeah, I often wondered what it took to rise through the ranks myself. I guess
you learn something new everyday! I see that a few of you have become
seniors. Fair play to ya for keeping the flame alive!
Thanks for that Rolo.

Crusty,

If you've read through some of the chat you'll wonder exactly what it all has to do with the Grove.

But there's a few of us,as you say, knocking a bit of crack out of the whole thing most days, with very tenuous links to the core subject.

All good fun though.

Rolo.

Crusty,

This is only a suggestion but is there any way in displaying the messages in reverse order i.e. the latest postings at the top and then descending - it would make it easier to read the thread of the conversations - especially when the get off the subject.......

only a small suggestion - - just in case you are looking for something to do!!!!!!! - great siteSmile

cheers

Jackie

doing this would involve a fair few hacks of the forum coding which would take time that I currently don't have
