I thought that this may be of interest to people who haven't yet heard!
[source] Given the way the families were treated last week when they occupied the security hut at government buildings, I have to say that I'm not surprised. One has to wonder, had a non-FF government been in place, would the outcome have been the same? Whatever the case, its a disgrace! |

well at least arson has been ruled out,it has given the families some comfort, and hopefully the 48 children can
rest in peace I grew up about a mile or so away from the Stardust, and it one of my earliest memories, and it has stayed with me all these years, its a disgrace the way the familys have been treated all this time, and since arson has been ruled out, shoudnt the Butterly's have to pay back the compensation they received ? |

Its a disgrace! Those people have been campaigning for a second enquiry for 26 years now. It's shameful that they still haven't had the closure they deserve. Jen |

I agree, it is a complete disgrace, I remember the night as if it were yesterday, I was due to go to an irish dancing thing there a few days later. As usual the innocent and their families suffer.

I have never forgotten that night. I couldn't even watch the drama documentary. Friends and neighbours were there on the night and I will never forget the day after as they started to release the names of those dead and who was still missing. |

Me neither Finno, was only about 800 yards from my house. Have vivid recollections of going up when we heard the sirens and watching the tragedy unfold. |

I remember going to the youth club in Raheny and quite a few who died that night were from Edenmore and I knew them! How very sad indeed. I will never forget one of my pals at the time Laura who lost both her cousins the McDermots from Edenmore.

I think everyone knew someone in that fire. The McDermots were neighbours of my cousins. 3 girls from St Mary's were lost and we had to sing at their funerals - I think it left a lasting impression on everyone. My cousins had tickets for that dance but didn't go and didn't tell their parents - so my poor aunt and uncle thought they were there. They went down to the stardust and my cousins came home from their night out and went to bed not knowing anything had happened. |

Was a terrible night . I was suppose to be there friend Ger Lynchs 17 birthday but wasnt allowed to go as had to baby sit had furious row with my parents over it. Will never forget hearing thenews the next morning just couldnt take it in at all. No mobiles in those days so took the best part of the day to find out if my friends where all ok. Thankfully none of my close friends died several ended up in hospital one guy Andy dreadfully burnt so bad we didnt even recognise him when we went into the hospital to see him. I know it effected people long afterwards remember being in th Killer with andy over a year later and he insisted we sit right beside the door he was still real nervous being out and about. |

My nephew was in that fire. He was one of the lucky ones that survived and was on the front page of the paper. Eejit, he was from Edenmore...Michael (Mick) Giles |
