Ok, just like to get a little bit of feedback on the idea and possibility of a New Years Eve Grove Reunion. This doesn't mean that the next reunion will be on New Years Eve, it just means that it might be one of the options that we're looking at, so no twisted knickers please!

Your thoughts?...

I prefer 31st myself but as Rolo said a lot of people have hassle getting sitters so one of the other dates be better...
Either way none of the nights are convenient for me I be in work everyday after them... Prefer 28th

Around that time is impossible for us to get babysitters. And we have the panto's etc that time too.

I'd go along with the others and say that I'd imagine that New Years Eve wouldnt suit me...I havent mentioned it to Siobhán but I think I know what the answer would be...28th sounds like a good idea - not *too* close to Christmas Day...

Andy,

As always I'll be in Thailand at Christmas time so won't be able to make any reunions around that time.

Some of us will be working on the Monday Dec 29th so the Sunday 28th wouldn't be ideal.

Saturday 27th would be better..........

Ok, just to keep you all updated. Firstly, thanks to you all for your posts on this subject. As you can see from the other post within this topic, the venue and date has been decided upon. We tried to bring the reunions back closer to Clontarf/Raheny but came up against nothing but walls and legalitites which have prevented us from actually doing so (any issues should be taken up with your local T.D.s). Unfortunately, The Button Factory is no longer an option for weekend reunions. So the venue we have chosen for the Christmas Reunion is Radio City, Store St. which is situated beneath the Isaac Butt Cafe Bar. And here's just some of the reasons why we think it's suitable and covers most (previous) requests:
  •  It's right at the junction of all public transport (DART, train, bus and Luas), there's two taxi ranks within spitting distance of the front door (Busaras and Connolly Station)
  •  There's also a Garda Station over-looking the establishment (for those of you who are hesitant about walking the streets of Dublin after dark).
  • The building is adjoined to Isaac's Hotel should anyone require such a facility.
  • Cecil will be there, in fact he was the one who suggested the venue - so it gets his endorsement.
I think that should about cover it, oh, it's Northside too! The only thing that it doesn't provide, is babysitting services, but you've over 10 weeks from now to book them.

Thanks again,

Crusty.
