Well Darach all I can say is that if I ever saw a guy going through the motions it was him.

The only thing he said all night was " the weathers gettin' better"

Sound went twice and people started shuffeling out at about 8-45

Gary you're exaggerating - he also said 'thank you' after one of his songs! I was so looking forward to that concert and was really disappointed.

I was told a funny story last night by a woman who went to see Boyzone (is that how you spell it?) with her young daughter. They left Carlow at 1pm on a bus that was heading up and didn't get back til 3am! Long saga of the day but at the end of it all she said ' if they were playing again on my front lawn I wouldn't look out the window!' Thought it was a good expression!

Ronan

No hassle at all. We met in Gibbo's and then did Smyths and then Duffys ( We needed a break as it's a long walk from Smyths.

Then we went into the castle grounds just past the railway station.

Have to say its very well run and there was no hassle apart from Clapton and the weather

Whitesnake/Def Leppard...

Went up to Belfast on the train to see Whitesnake and Def Leppard. T'was a great day out, met up in Connolly station and had two pints and got a hair cut while waiting on the train. Got our seats on the train and as soon as the train started moving it was straight to the bar, it was great to sit back and relax and not having to drive. I only say one thing about the train Fifty bleeding two euros for a train ticket.

I went more to see Whitesnake than Def Leppard. We missed the first band Blackstone Cherry, we got into the venue got a couple of beers and a rubber burger and just sat down in the seats as Whitesnake came on. Whitesnake played their  well oldies songs. They played "Fool for your lovin" was their second song which I thought was way to early. I didn't think the crowd really got going for Whitesnake until "Here I go Again" which was near the end of their set. Whitesnake were good but a bit disappointing.

Def Leppard surprised me they did put on a much better show than I expected and they were the better band on the night. Maybe this was because they had the full use of the stage and they lighting system. Even their new album is good and a lot rockier than you expect from Leppard. Def's played a Greatest hits and about 3 or 4 songs from their new album and they had the crowd going from their first song which the opend with "Rocket" and then "Animal"..

Great night in Belfast but we won't mention the "Rave" night club we ended up in and the 5am Room service of Chicken Curry and chips we had

Just home from Neil Young gig. I am not a big fan only started lsitening to him over the last 2 years and grown to like his stuff. Never liked him back in the Grove days. First few songs I didn't know and the music sounded very distorted. I was waiting on The Needle and the Damage done" and he decides to play that when Grainne and myself decided to go and get some chips. The second of the gig was great playing all the old favourites, and Neil Young is some man to be rocking as hard as he was at his age. Very enjoyable gig
