For me U2 at their rockiest best. Just love this album. Brings me back to 2017 when I did a road trip with my pal Paul to see Lodi (CCR song) and find the original joshua tree featured on U2's iconic album of the same name. Both our dreams fulfilled after many years of waiting. |

Great album with superb lyrics with social comments. With Crazy Horse go has that classic Neil Young guitar sound. Edited by Biker Pat - 24-March-2021 at 03:30 |

Bobby turned 80 yesterday -
I lost a Dylan bet during the week - In "Times They are a Changin'' I always thought that the line was–"You better STOP swimming or you'll sink like a stone..." and it's –"You better START swimming...". My version makes more sense in the context of the song, I think...I'll write a note to Bob and ask him to change it. .

Isn't it just perfect when on a Sunday morning sitting outside on the patio having your breakfast and your wife sticks on your favourite band on the stereo.
In my case a John Fogerty collection with songs from his Creedence Clearwater Revival days and solo career. ❤❤ Edited by Biker Pat - 14-November-2021 at 02:06 |

I have only seen Christy on the Late Late Show with Tubridy and thought he was very gifted in the voice department - usually singing Irish standards (Raglan Road and stuff). I don't think Aslan ever made the charts on this side of the pond but may be wrong. Shame on me, I wouldn't be able to name even one Aslan song

When I was working in Aer Lingus I was on a project that took me to Atlanta on and off for a year.
Met this guy called Chris who worked in diner/bar in the Little Five Points area of Atlanta where I liked to hang out. He was mad into Aslan but couldn't get any of their CD's in Atlanta. He new all about the band and asked me to send him some Aslan CD's when I got home. So I did and lo and behold he arrived in Dublin afterwards and sought out Christy Dignam and they became great mates. "Crazy World" is really the only song I know by Aslan and it's brilliant. Great stories lads. I briefly met Christy a couple of times, seems like a sound lad. Hugely popular in Ireland, all over. When Bowies band became a Bowie tribute band after he died, they did a few nights in the Olympia theatre for a couple of years there. They would occasionally have a guest artist or two to cover one or two of Bowie's songs. One of the nights I was there, Christy was one of the guest artists. The applause and roaring when he was introduced was unreal, brought the house down...

Coincidence RR - I watched a documentary about Brian Duffy last night. Back in the 60's/70' he shot the iconic photos of Bowie during his Ziggy Stardust period...along with famous shots of other models and artists. I like Duffy's work and had seen the documentary before. He went a bit mad in the end and tried to burn all of his negatives in a bonfire out back of his studio, luckily the neighbours called the police to complain about the stench and most were saved.
Later they asked Duffy why he tried to destroy his life's work and he said _ "I went to the studio and my secretary told me we were out of toilet paper. It was then I realised that I was in charge of toilet paper" HAR! I can relate to that.
