OK-I've dropped the 'Posh' bit as it was one of them 'you had to be there' so it's just me...(everybody thought 'Posh Floyd' was a new member...)

Just thought I'd resurrect this very important part of the Grove-The Slow Set - as it hasn't had a post in months.

What slowies would you like to hear at the Craobh?

Just wanted to recall what Lynn did at the 40th.

She ran up to where we were hanging out and grabbed my hand as the slowies were playing...Crusty then said 'we'll play this for Floydman' and out boomed 'Comfortably Numb'---it was great. Lynn wanted to ask for a song to be played for me as a kind of 'reward' for Cecil's picture but she couldn't get near Cecil or Andy. Pat and Muller jumped to the rescue and asked her what did she want and she said 'Any Pink Floyd for Martin'. They delivered and we got our slow dance,it was very romantic as we gazed at each other trying to avoid BR writhing on the floor doing the guitar solo.

THEN immediatley after it came Nights in White Satin!!! (kind of a 'our song' thing) and it just couldn't be better if that was planned. We never danced together at the Grove even though we went at the same times but this was the first slow set we shared with some of our favourite tunes.

Magic.

What are your slow set moments? (BB + HD? Need we ask?)

And what slowies would you hope to hear this re-union?

There are three kinds of people in the world, those who are able to count, and those who can't...

I love the slow sets cos they are a thing of the past now, never get to "lurch" with Robbie anymoreunless it's at a reunion
The first song we ever danced to was "Stairway to Heaven" followed by "Woman" John Lennon. It was a Saturday night 31st July 1982

Wife won't be going as heavily pregnant.

Black russian is bringing me with his spare ticket. I think I hope there's no slowies - he may think I'm his date and want me to "writhe on the floor" with him

Never had favourite slowies - never had a Grove girlfriend when I was going, and myself and Laura never really developed a song that became our own. In fact we really struggled to pick out a first dance for our wedding because of that. We went with "Fools Rush In" as we had been going out for over eleven years before we got hitched

However, I think "Stairway" is a must. I have always loved "wonderful tonight" and since the Grove CD's were cut, I think Hazel O Connor's song is the biz "Will You"

I'm searching for that cash I should have saved for the crash

Clifford T Ward-Gaye please and also Stay with me til Dawn ....  my faves.

I could probably go on...Samba Pa Ti, Ripples, Seventeen, Love & Affection. Theres too many here already. Slowies never lasted more than two songs, if I remember correctly. Probably just as well in some cases!

Judy Tzuke - Stay With Me Till Dawn

Hazel O'Connor - Will You

Both of those are very special to Brian and I...would really love one of those to be played at the Halloween reunion (Pretty Please!)

My own favourites include Angie and The Rain Song.

But plenty of those mentioned above are also top notch.

My vote would be for "Like a Hurricane" by Neil Young!  Awesome song and great lengthy song back in the day if you were dancing with someone you fancied!
