Hey Tomcat, welcome to the site! I remember him playing "I go to sleep" as well as "No Woman No Cry". Not sure if he played "Running with the pack" but a great song all the same... Edited by Brunswick |

I remember Jim Redmond headbanging for the whole of Stairway to Heaven (even the slow first 4/5s) while the couples all tried to dance around him!!

I don't believe that Donal. Probably fixing your flowing locks (or knocking back your choice of beverage)

Normally out in the compound during the slowies, probably got knocked back once too often.

Not sure if these were played at the Grove or not, it's so far back but here goes: No woman no cry - Bob Marley Running with the pack - Bad Company I go to sleep - Pretenders |

LOL, that's so you Fran to throw a spanner in the works! I'd love if "Thank You" by Zeppelin was played. I think I fell in love with my hubby listening to him playing that on camping trips when we were still just mates. Got it played at our wedding too. So Crusty...if you have it....PLEASE!!!!! (Now I just have to find a babysitter so hubby can go too). |

I'm hoping there's no slowies! But we know there will be! My memory of the slow sets was Kev Petrie and Shaun (I think his name was Shaun) asking as many girls as possible to see who got the most refusals. Poor Kev! I used to ruin it for him by saying Yes so I wouldn't look like wallflower and we used to have a good oul natter during the slowies!! Usually taking the pi** out of the groping grovers around us. Ahhh! Good times! |

Thanks. CCR didn't actually have a lot of slow songs but this one is a classic. Superstition Think that era of Stevie Wonder was his best 1969 - 1973. |

A great list too there Pat-was wondering how far down the list before CCR would come up! Ceciul played Stevie Wonder's Supersticion at the 40th. Never thought I'd hear that at the Grove...and at the 40th I never thought I'd be jiving to it...we were standing up at the back when it was played and I just couldn't help myself but to move while we were chatting...incredible groove-really boppy backbeat and keyboard riff. Cool... |
