I agree on dubs comments above. I never mind losing but its the manner in which they lost was the concern. The indicipline was a factor which was dissappointing. Also we used to have great options feom the bench - thats not the case anymore. Credit to Mayo, they were the better team and wanted it more.

Thanks for the summary ladsππ
No doubt the DUBS will be back again. Shame about Tyrone (not that I like them). Maybe having to forfeit their semi final game. |

Yep, agree totally with Sean there.
Maybe the bit of pressure taken off the Dubs now might freshen them up for future campaigns, as Sean says a period of transition had started this season anyway, that needs to work itself through and get to a settled team again with some new regular players. A season or two out of the full glare of the limelight and they should be back, strong as ever. If anyone had to beat them, I suppose it's fitting that it was Mayo - not that I have much time for them - anyway, onwards and upwards for the Dubs... |

Pat,they were shocking in the 2nd half, only scored 3 points as far as I remember, some of the decisions the players made were mind boggling, and the passing was shocking at times...a team in transition, hopefully they will learn from this experience, and come back stronger...Dessie might have to go though...

Just woke up to the news that the DUBS lost π₯π₯.
So looks like Kerry v Mayo in the final. I guess Dublin's run had to end eventually but it's sad all the same. Hope it doesn't mean the DUBS go backwards. From reading reports on FB sounds like they blew it second half? |

Yeah, it was weird Sean - is that a new thing the extra-time, or maybe just cos fixture congestion esp with the problems with Tyrone (?)
Anyway, they had to lose at some stage, I suppose!!! |

so Mayo finally beat Dublin...I think covid must have killed the curse am not used to seeing extra time been played in a GAA match, usually when its a draw,it's a replay...final score after extra time Mayo 0-17 Dublin 0-14. Kerry v Mayo final.

Yes indeed Pat
There's a lot of chatter over here that they won't win the championship this year - cos Cluxton and some others of the old guard not available. Maybe they won't, and the run has to come to an end sometime, but I'd love to see them do it, even just this year, to stick it to all the begrudgers... |

Thanks Gerry ππ
One of the reasons I was also curious is because I see the All Ireland championship has started and usually the League Final is played well before that. But then again what's "usual" anymore ππ |

This one needs someone more knowledgeable in GAA affairs to answer the "why" bit, Pat. But the "what happened" bit is as you say - Dublin and Kerry ended up level pegging on games won or whatever - and the next logical step would be to play each other in a final...but that hasn't happened and so they were declared joint champions or something...
...someone else on here might be able to enlighten as to why a final wasn't played - I don't think one was even planned Pat, but damned if I know why ... |

Folks.
What's the story with the GAA National League? Did someone win it? I know Dublin were doing well but can't find what happened after they appeared to finish level with Kerry in their group. |
