Yo Pogue,
Like three of the four trax above. Unlike Gerry I ska doesn't do anything for me at all. Talking Heads 👍 Captain Beefheart. A group I missed out on because everytime someone posts one of their trax I always love plot. Roger Daltrey. I bought the single when it came out. Great track. Not often you see Daltrey with a guitar. But I do agree with Gerry that you should put together song lists for the radio show. |

May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

That video is "unavailable" in the US for some reason Pat.
The Roger Daltry appearance on the Old Grey Whistle Test was to introduce his first solo album. It featured a few songs written by Leo Sayer ...One Man Band etc. Leo was unheard of at the time so maybe has Roger to thank for the start of his successful career. One Man Band . Also Sprach Zarathustra.
Strange not available in the USA. Always loved that One Man Band song by Leo Sayer. It was played in the Grove. |

Here's a not-so-popular group that I think is good. You can just sit back and enjoy the music or use it to learn to dance like Gerry (RR)

That's not the worst I've ever heard Poguey, but I agree the singer could do with a tutorial from me on shaking his ... Eh...booty!!! Song is a bit one-paced, mind.
Future Islands, I've heard of them ok, they were an up-and-coming band a couple of years ago but progress seemed to stall then ...? |

Here's one I quite like, but maybe not to everyone's taste. Some parts of the video are a bit graphic - although Tarantino-sequel more than anything. They seem to be based in LA, but most definitely sarf London accent from the singer - who looks like the progeny of a giraffe and ... eh ... a spider maybe! Starcrawler, with Bet my Brains. Enjoy ... https://youtu.be/mwzlySJJJQQ

I must have slept through the '90s and am just catching up on Cocteau Twins hits... there's more than two of them...in the band I mean, not hits.

Hmmmmm ... operatic, perhaps Poguey - but certainly listenable.
The version of Song of the Siren there is by This Mortal Coil ... |

Goes to show ya RR
I thought This Mortal Coil with was an event with mixed artists and not a band. I just assumed with Elizabeth Fraser singing it was the Cocteau Twins. My Bad

Yeh Pat. That's like the national anthem here. Chrissie was born in Akron (home of Devo and a bunch of other 70s-80s bands), about a forty minute drive from Cleveland.

A touch of Nancy, who passed away recently. My brother Tony went to the loo in Suzy Street nightclub on Leeson Street a while back (80's), when after-hours dives were in vogue. When he returned Nancy was sitting on his barstool, or at least her Marlboro Lights were. He instantly recognised her squeaky voice but in true Irish fashion he pretended not to know who she was. They got chatting but he was too shy to make the moves... he lives in regret to this day. RIP Nancy- she loved Ireland-true story
