I must have read wrong information somewhere. Only 54. A very young age indeed to pass away. And Elvis himself was only 42 when he died !! |

This was one of the most musical scandals of all time.
Imagine writing such a catalog of classic Creedence Clearwater Revival songs and not having rights to your own music. Following a 50-year legal battle, the founding member of Creedence Clearwater Revival now owns the global publishing rights to the iconic rock band's songs. It came after Mr Fogerty, 77, bought a majority stake in the rights to the band's catalogue from Concord Records, which has owned the rights since 2004.

David Crosby, Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash Co-Founder, Dies at 81This is truly sad news. A rock legend and vital cog in the Crosby, Stills and Nash group as well as CSNY. RIP David. ❤️❤️ Edited by Biker Pat - 19-January-2023 at 22:35 |

It's scary Sean. At this rate the Grove Radio crew will need to shows at the end of the year to cover all the musicians who passed away in 2023. Makes me think of my own mortality as I enter into my 70's this year. So much to do and see which is keeping me active and in good form. Healthy diet and plenty of exercise and lots of TLC from Marjie. |

Absolutely Sean. The way I'm feeling now I want to live forever. Am enjoying life so much. I feel blessed but grateful that my life's flight is now on a smooth path after experiencing some turbulance.

Here's an interesting bit of trivia. "Marshall Tucker" in the band's name does not refer to a band member, but rather a blind piano tuner from Columbia, South Carolina.[4] While the band was discussing possible band names one evening in an old warehouse they had rented for rehearsal space, someone noticed that the warehouse's door key had the name "Marshall Tucker" inscribed on it, and suggested they call themselves "The Marshall Tucker Band," not realizing it referred to an actual person. Later it came to light that Marshall Tucker, the blind piano tuner had tuned a piano in that rented space before the band and his name was inscribed on the key. The man himself Marshall Tucker died aged 99 a few days ago on 20th January 2023. |

There is an onion crisis here in the Philippines. An item you take for granted in supermarkets in most countries. The rise in onion prices has been unprecedented, says Prof Leonardo Lanzona, of Ateneo de Manila University. The cost per kilogram reached up to 720 peso (US$13) in Metro Manila in late December – more than the daily minimum wage in the national capital region (533-570 peso). Prices have since fallen, but a kilogram of onions still costs more than a whole chicken. Onions are being smuggled into the country and some Philippine Airlines cabin.crew were caught with onions in their baggage. One bride was even photographed with a bouquet of onions at her wedding instead of flowers to show off her wealth 😂😂😂. So onions are off our menu to be replaced with spring onions that are plentiful.

Here's two reasons why there's an onion shortage
Back in August, the Department of Agriculture had forecast a potential shortage of the root crop. A few months later, the Philippines was hit by two powerful storms that caused substantial crop damage," says Nicholas Mapa, a senior economist at ING Bank. "We have also seen a stark pickup in demand as the economy recovers sharply," Mr Mapa said.

That is interesting Pat "...a kilogram of onions still costs more than a whole chicken." because here in the US they are basing cost of living increases on the rise in the price of eggs.
Which raises the age-old question: Which is more expensive, the chicken or the egg? not to mention...why did the egg cross the road?

Very sad to read the passing of Burt Bacharach. Top class composer / songwriter, record producer & musician...Burt Bacharach sadly passed away yesterday aged 94. Very sad news. He had written 73 US & 53 UK Top 40 hits by various artists. Legend in music never to be forgotten!

John Fogerty playing O3 Dublin on 23rd May. His two sons band Hearty Har playing support and will also feature in John's backing band as well. A real family affair.
