Correct Sean. Five days before I left Ireland for the Philippines. And what a send off it was. Not sure I can make it back for the show in May. But we'll see.

Hi Sean. Did all the costs of traveling to Ireland and it's just too expensive when I add up all the expenses. We're talking €1000's as I had wanted to stay for 2 weeks besides the concert. So gonna have to give this concert a miss. I saw John in 2018 and have the memories and photos from that concert. We've also had a lot of personal expenses this year already so I can't really justify the major cost of this trip. Marjie was urging me to go but I'd rather put these funds aside for a trip to Ireland with her at a later date. Ces't la vie my friend and thank you for your kind words.

Very sad to read this. RIP Bobbi. ❤️❤️✌️✌️ Bobbi Kelly Ercoline, the blanketed woman who was featured with her then-boyfriend and later husband on the cover of Woodstock’s 1970 soundtrack album, died Saturday. Nick Ercoline, her husband of 54 years, confirmed her death on Facebook. “She lived her life well, and left this world in a much better place. If you knew her, you loved her. She lived by her saying, ‘Be kind,'” he wrote. Ercoline added, “She didn’t deserve this past years nightmare, but she isn’t suffering from the physical pain anymore and that brings some comfort to us.” A specific cause of death or age was not disclosed, though her husband shared that she was surrounded by family. Bobbi and Nick Ercoline were both 20 and had been dating only a few months when they heared about a festival on the radio in 1969. The concert was happening in Bethel, about an hour from where they lived in Middletown, N.Y., and they had heard stories of traffic jams and crowds on every radio. The next day, their friend Jim “Corky” Corcoran borrowed his mother’s station wagon, and they filled it with beer and wine before taking off on Route 17. Along the way, as traffic was at a standstill, people abandoned their belongings. That’s when they found the blanket that would appear on the iconic album cover.

Ah Pat --that photo brings back memories. Me and Derek Farrell sitting on a grassy knoll, cheering along with the hippy crowd, playing air guitar on a broom handle...No Wait- forget it!..That was the Kennedy assassination

Another legend gone 😢😢😢 Sad to hear of the death of Keith Reid. An unparalleled lyricist Keith wrote the words to virtually all Procol Harum songs, as well as co-writing the John Farnham hit You're The Voice. His lyrics were one of a kind and helped to shape the music created by the band. His imaginative, surreal and multi-layered words were a joy to Procol fans and their complexity by design was a powerful addition the Procol Harum catalogue. |

Sad to see that Gordon Lightfoot has passed away.
His classic songs "If I Could Read Your Mind" and "Sundown" were frequently played in the Mount Prospect Grove. RIP Gordon. 🙏 ❤️

Back in the late 70s and early 80s Gordon passed through Cleveland a lot. I think it might have been due to his connection with his "Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald" song - ship went down in lake Superior in 1975.
I was a bit of a fan and saw him perform three times - I was learning guitar and into acoustic folk bigtime...hard to think that was over 40 years ago. RIP Gordon. ...forgot -I saw him for the first time in 1974 at The Capitol Movie Theatre, Dublin when "Sundown" was released (so 4 times total) .

Nice one Pogue.
Other than his famous songs I don't know his music very well. But I know he was highly acclaimed in the music world.

Another singer gone. 😢😢😢
Linda Ann Fredericks (27 September 1950 – 3 May 2023), better known as Linda Lewis, was an English vocalist, songwriter and guitarist. She is best known for the singles "Rock-a-Doodle-Doo" (1973), "Sideway Shuffle" (1973), and her version of Betty Everett's "Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)" (1975).[1] Her discography includes solo albums, Lark (1972), Not a Little Girl Anymore (1975), Woman Overboard (1977), and the later Second Nature (1995),[2] which became successful in countries such as Japan. Lewis also provided backing vocals for other artists, including David Bowie, Al Kooper, Cat Stevens, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, Rick Wakeman, Rod Stewart, Peter Bardens,[3] Hummingbird, Joan Armatrading and Jamiroquai.[4]
