Hi. I need some of my buddies to help me out here, Bluebell or some of the rest of yis technological people, I will TRY to record the Grove documentry tomorrow night ( I will or course be watching it). However I only have this old banger of a video recorder which I never quite got the hang of and for some reason when I try to record one station , (even when I'm actually watching it at the time) it actually records another. So if I can find out which station I need to watch while recording ...ah feck it ! you see the problem....

Could one of you please please make a copy for me ( I do actually have a dvd) I'll willing send on a few blank dvd's in exchange or pay any costs involved

regards

Stevie,

If you don't get sorted get in touch. I'm recording it on video and my pal is making a DVD copy.

May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

well what did everyone think of it??  I was almost crying too when Cecil went back to St Pauls

Some of my "southside" friends just cant understand why we loved it so much there.  How can you describe the experience to anyone that never went?

I was thinking about that yesterday - all this fuss over a disco. However, its not quite like that. The place formed the characters that many of us are now. We developed musical tastes there, made friends and aquaintances, etc.
Even the reunions are great. To see a room of adults moshing to Whole Lotta Rosie is not a common sight.

Hi All...

This is my first post in the forum.. been reading through for a while and is really great to read about the memories and recollections of The Grove. I went there in the late 70's to mid 80's till marriage, mortgages, kids and grey hairs took me away ;-)
I've been to two re-unions so far and like most of the posters say, was great to see a room full of people moshing and headbanging and enjoying good music..and not a flying fist to be seen..well..at least not in anger anyway..*g*

I haven't seen the documentary yet but have it taped to watch over the next few days..

I'll have my finger hovering over the still pause button... ;-)

Anyway..that's my first post out of the way...nice to meet you all and long may this site run...

What a great documentary

Credit to Cecil for his dedication over the years.

A wonderful man who has finally got the exposure and credit he deserves after all he did for us.

We have all been touched by him in some way or another.

May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Nah Hayseed, not just " Another Attention Trap ".

Forget the rest, just hang around here for a while, get stuck in to the crack, meet a few like minded nutters and you'll never see the need for any of those other places.

A very warm welcome to the madhouse, might as well organise your P45 now.

Rolo.
