Does anyone remember Smoochie Kev on the radio.  During the Grove Days in the 80's we would all write into him and later in the night he would read our letters and play our requests mostly Grove music as I remember it.

Yes I believe that's the fella - gas stuff I used to lie in bed listening to that on a Sunday night -we would write into him and have great fun listening to him reading it all out over the radio...

I had a fantastic time Bluebell - the weather was fantastic and the craic was just the same - one of our best trips home yet!

Eeek!!

Just got5 home and was browsing through the topics (cos the dinners not ready cos someone spent all day on here..hehe) and horror of horrors..I came across this topic. Jaysus..do I remember Keven Barrett!!

I used to write in to him for a long time..and yeah..he was on Radio Dublin. I was actually quite a regular and used to go by the name of Robbie the Headgbanger!!..I know...how original.

I used to send in poems and requests...think me and a girl called Valerie from Blessington where the most regular poets on the show....Oh my...not sure I wanna be dredging up these memories..

Wonder whatever happened to Kevin..I heard once he joined a religious order or something?

There is a forum called
radiowaves.fm where I'm almost sure I saw a thread
about smoochy Kevin Barrett a year or so back.
I've not been able to dig it up in the forum search
tool.

You can register, etc and they have a "Missing persons"
forum where people ask about former DJs,etc.
