That'll be the late drinks in work! One of the few advantages of working for a venue. They kidnapped me as I was walking by last night/this morning on my way home - I swear! And now I'm back here, in work, on a bank holiday Monday morning, in til midnight. No rest.
Love the photos Floyd - I had a flick through mine when I got home, some great ones in there. Just gotta weed out the bland photos and then I'll send the rest to Killian and he'll post them in the gallery. I'll do that asap.

Brilliant night was had. Andy, you made my night by playing 'Deliverance' by The Mission! Shame none of the people I was with had the b#lls to get up on the dancefloor. (Glares at Shaun!) What is it with everyone these days? They won't be first up on the floor for love nor money! Guess we're all a bit more self-conscious these days.
Glad you enjoyed the night yourself. Having second thoughts? Lol!
Martin, lovely pics. You really captured the essence of the Grove in those ones on the dancefloor. Lovely meeting all the gang again.

It was like a last of the summer wine - mobile going home - Finno, RT2, Cecil and moi. What a great chat all the way with the Rolling Stones playing in the background and the "Music Man" giving us the background to each track - who composed it - lyrics and memody etc. Mr Encyclopedia!

Mel you were missed. As were the rest of you that couldn't make it. Great night, really enjoyed chatting, catching up and having a bop with everyone.
Thanks to Cecil and Andy for a great night, especially for playing Spirit of the Radio. Especially enjoyed that one (not sure my neck did though).
The photographers were definitely missed...Andy I can't believe you missed it....Joan bursting out of her corset and Sinead trying to "Hook and Eye" it back together. Priceless stuff!
Didn't get home til 4:15. Had to walk past Connolly station before we got a taxi! At least taxi driver was an ex Grover, though his taste in musci had gone somewhat downhill Off for a snooze now while baby is having a nap and tlf is "helping" Daddy in the shed.

Hi Fellow Grovers...only getting to check in now.
It was great to see you all again last night. Enjoyed all the chat with familiar and new faces. The night just seemed to fly by.
A slight limp, you say Whippersnapper? I'm surprised anyone survived that mosh-pit let alone limped away from it! Crazy stuff.
Thanks for the pics , Martin....I love looking at them
The absence of the non-attendees was notable so we'll have to get cracking on the arrangements for the next Grove night out....that is before we start organising the Malahide Castle/Neil Young day out (Roundabout2 ?) and ,of course, the picnic in St.Annes!
Thanks again to Andy and Cecil....a fabulous night.

Hi guys just been chatting to cecil on my rather late arrival into work.
Himself and andy were also both delighted with the reunion as Cecil said the dance floor was hopping for the night no lulls or gaps at all so he was absolutly delighted said he really enjoyed himself.
And I said so did we
Would be quite optimistic about another night out this year not sure where yet but honestly after Sunday I really dont care I had such a good night.
Gary missed you on Sunday had to have Snapper substitute for you and very well he did too

I just met Cecil there, in town and he was high! He absolutely loved the night! There was some real magic there the other night, and you could really feel it in the air. Also, I might add, he did comment on how much he loves The Button Factory and said he'd love to go back there for another reunion. And he told me that some of you who don't live so close ie. those in foreign lands, have been giving the "locals" schtick about complaining about trekking in and out of town! And that you'd give your right arm to be able to "catch a taxi in and out of Dame St.". I never quite saw it like that, you've got a real point there!
The next one might just be in Temple Bar or it might be in Clontarf, time will tell! Anyway the bottom line is that last Sunday just proved that location does affect the numbers but it definitely doesn't affect the atmosphere. Well done one and all. Top night!

Rolo - I'm very glad Andy chose to desert us - more alcohol was exactly what we needed at 3.30am!
Note to self for future reference: Moshing at my age is not such a great idea! Haven't been able to walk for the last 2 days. Thanks to Darragh for dragging me up when I went down.
Thanks to all for a great night.
Arty.

Good god, two months later and we're still not past this subject? ;) Nice to see i left my mark at least.
Or was this a cunning plan to bait me back onto the forum? It worked (sorry Peter, i know it's much to your dismay ;) )
Back on topic, hell of a night, and my neck was stiff as a board for the guts of two days afterwards. However if there isn't at least a Christmas or Halloween reunion this year. We riot!
me.
PS: Next time The Mission get played, can we wait until there are a few people on the floor? A baldy like myself is a bit self concious going down to an empty floor ;)

No problemos Uncle Arthur.
I am well aware that you are 250 years old next year , so I understand that at your age, moshing may not seem to be a good idea.
However, I believe that moshing is ALWAYS a good idea.
Drink at 3.30 am - always a bad idea, but often seems like a good idea.

I have to say it warms my heart when I read comments like this. I can't believe you travelled all the way up from Galway for the reunion! That's dedication. Really, that's great Rosalie. It brings the true meaning of "reunion" out when people actually make such efforts. And same goes for you Finno, coming across from Kilkenny for the night, Carlow's pretty impressive too Grainne!. It's people like that who add the icing to the cake. So here's to you, thanks for making the effort.
P.S. I have to say if I had the franchise on air guitars on Sunday I could retire now. I've never seen so many in one room ever before! Classic stuff!

Yeah G, and when I got it back it was all out of tune.
Almost forgot the magic moment when two lunatics who should know better at their age hoisted the aforementioned Andy onto their shoulders for headbanging purposes in the middle of Paradise City.
A truly legendary moment.
Wondering if anyone got a pic ??
