Subject: Pat McManus/Bernie Marsden gig
Date Posted: 21-February-2009 at 14:50
I spoke to Pat Mc Manus and his bass player Gordon last night, and told them there was a lot of interest from the Grovers in the gig on Sunday 15th March,at 7pm,I said we would want between 16-20 tickets
they said they would love to see us there, and they have had a lot of enquiries re the gig already,so they need confirmation a.s.a.p. on who wants tickets and who wants t-shirts,it is 10 euro for ticket, and 22 euro for ticket and t-shirt
so anyone who is going can let me know, and I will PM you Gordon the bass players number, and you can arrange how many tickets you want e.t.c. with him
and the gig starts at 8pm sharp,so we will need to be there early to get good seats
hope to see a good turnout on the night, and I will send whoever wants Gordons number in the next couple of days,

Folks,

I assume you can all still make it - let me know asap if not.

Gig starts early - 8pm sharp apparently.

Your tickets are in my real name (Tom Fleming) and can be collected at the door in - €10 each (€22 if you want the t-shirt as well)

See you there.

it must be an experience for someone who never went to the Grove,to come along, and see us headbanging...

Hi guys,

This is a long shot but did anyone at the gig on Sunday come across a 7" single of Needle in the Groove in a plain white sleeve?  I brought along 3 Whitesnake singles for Bernie to sign (which he did) and one Mamas Boys single for Pat to sign (which he did).  When I was heading home, I discovered that I only had the Whitesnake ones with me.  The 1985 copy of this single (in pic sleeve) is going for about €2.50 on e-bay - however, I'm very fond of my 1982 copy (I dont know if the 1982 version even had a pic sleeve, but its still special - especially now that its signed!).

Cheers!

Mel.

I did ring the Lamb alright, Seán - the guy said that the office was locked but there was nothing left in "The Usual Spot", where the stuff is normally left.  If the worst comes to the worst, I'll order it off e-bay for a few euro.

I suppose the worst case scenario is that you have to pay for a new copy, and if you end up having to do that,I'm sure Pat will only be to happy to sign that one for you too

Mel,
When you were heading home are you sure you didnt take that single out and have a good look at it and then leave it in some1s car????
Hubby found an auld single this morning in back of car was going to throw it out then decided to leave it on table so we could all have a giggle on the size of the "CD" my kid wanted to use it as a frizbee i said she could so the gang of kids went out to the park threw it around a bit got it all mucky stood on it scratched it and then chucked it in the waste bin.....Mel do you think this could be your single?
Do you think i should go look in the bin for it?
did you really want the sleeve on it?
Mel was wondering why you were rooting in the old plastic bag on way home now i know...lol

BTW single is safe dont worry my kid didnt get her hands on it...LMAO
Will drop it over to you next time im heading to skerries or will give it to you next time we meet up
You do love me dont you Mel..giggles not that you didnt already..LMAO

Great photos Pat!

Sharon, just wanted to say thanks for finding (and minding) my single for me!!

I thought it might have just fallen out of the bag at the pub - had a few beers on board by the end of the night!

Thanks again!!

D'oh!!  Reminds me of the old Simpsons episode (the Xfiles one I think) and Marge asks Homer if he has been drinking and he says "No!" and then when pressed, he says "OK, ten beers!".

My pleasure BB.

I nearly completed a roll of 36. Wasn't drinking so I spent most of the night ducking and diving around the stage to get as many good shots as possible. These artists are worth photographing and I enjoy sharing with my special Grove friends.
