From the various recent posts on several threads, I was wondering how many of your favourite Grove songs did you see performed live by the actual artist? Where and when? ------------- Keep it Local, Keep it Near! |

Alice Cooper, 1991 in the Point comes to mind.... Saw the B52's sometime after that and Stevie Nicks also....great gigs. Can't remember the exact years now,but during the 80's I saw Thin Lizzy at Slane and The Stones as well. Going way back, I saw Mammas Boys in Lisdoonvarna...82? U2..........A couple of times over the years...Brillliant. All great gigs..........

Over my many years I've seen the following artists, and like keeping my old Grove card, I still have all the ticket stubs. Not all of these artists were played at the Grove when I went there but a lot were or were played after I left. Would be here all night if I was to say exactly where and when. Have to go through all the tick stubs. AC/DC, ALICE COOPER, BREAD, BOB DYLAN, BILLY IDOL, BB KING, BOOMTOWN RATS, BLUES BAND, BRUCE HORNSBY, BRYAN ADAMS, BONNIE RAITT, CROSBY STILLS AND NASH, CANNED HEAT, DIRE STRAITS, DR FEELGOOD, DOOBIE BROTHERS, DONOVAN, DEF LEPPARD, ELTON JOHN, ERIC CLAPTON, FRANKIE MILLER, FLEETWOOD MAC, GERRY RAFFERTY, GEORGIA SATELLITES, HORSLIPS, HUMAN LEAGUE, IGGY POP, JONATHAN RICHMAN, JEFF HEALEY, JUDAS PRIEST, JAMES TAYLOR, JASON AND THE SCORCHERS, JOHN FOGERTY, KINKS, NEIL YOUNG, NILS LOFGREN, PIRATES, PRETENDERS, ROLLING STONES, ROXY MUSIC, ROGER MC GUINN, ROGER GILMOUR, RORY GALLAGHER, STATUS QUO, SINEAD O'CONNOR, STEVE EARLE AND THE DUKES, STEVE MILLER, TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS, THE TROGGS, THE SWEET, U2, WARREN ZEVON, WATERBOYS, WISHBONE ASH, ZZ TOP Some of these I went to see a few times. can't remember all the years - just remember Genesis was in London a big deal in those days. got a present of 2 tickets to supertramp for paris 1979 as a 21st pressie. the best gig ever. my list BOB DYLAN, BOOMTOWN RATS, BRUCE HORNSBY, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN ,BRYAN ADAMS, CROSBY STILLS AND NASH, DIRE STRAITS, DOOBIE BROTHERS, ERIC CLAPTON, GERRY RAFFERTY, GENESIS,GRAHAM PARKER AND THE RUMOUR. HORSLIPS, JANIS IAN, JAMES TAYLOR, NEIL YOUNG, R.E.M. ROLLING STONES, RORY GALLAGHER, STONE ROSES, SUPERTRAMP (Paris 79) SUZANNE VEGA, U2, WATERBOYS , I have all the ticket stubs and the programmes still - wonderful memories. I got peed off with tickets for concerts tthat were cancelled. Like Christopher Cross. I don't think he ever played Dublin after... ------------- mary |

Julie Felix , Tom Paxton After leaving Ireland: Jethro Tull, Stones, Pink Floyd, Leo Sayer, Gladys Knight, Ray Charles, Neil Young, Dire Straits, Gordon Lightfoot, David Byrne, The Temptations, Jack Bruce with Ginger Baker, Dylan, Tom Waits, John Prine. Leo Kottke,..and eh Jonas Brothers, Brittney Spears,...i'm going blank... Not necessarily all Groverites I know |
