Listen Lenny,

Certainly felt old when in the middle of the mosh last sunday week during " Alternative Ulster ", " Gloria " and  " Smells like Teen Spirit ".

My excuse is that my kid brother ( also like you,in his thirties ) dragged me in kicking and screaming. Not that I objected too much.

Haven't had as much crack in ages.

Date Posted: 07-November-2005 at 12:39

Not seen or heard of them in years. Do any of them go to the reunions? Ive been to one, but saw no one I knew. There ended that adventure. Was Rory McCann not in that bunch too?

Ah sure no worries - I haven't seen him in years a few more years wont hurt. Thanks for the update though.
Its a good forum, but you defo need more pictures in order to stroll down memory lane, but Im afraid that I cant help out there as a meteor crashed into my house and managed to only destroy the fire proof safe where I kept my 'teenage' pictures. Ah well.

Lenny, we were different eras of the grove, but I think we worked together in AOL a few years later. Did you work there, and drive the little yellow death machine?

Now there's two blasts from the past.

I didn't know these girls per se.  But I remember they both used to get mad violent if us doofus rockers encroached on their introspection during Joy Division or any Smiths songs.  It ended up becoming a game - see how far you could push your luck before one of them sucker punched you.

Man, they get throw too!  They'd have fit right in with Tony Soprano's crew.

Hi there, just found this website after watching the documentary last night. It brought back some great memories of the Grove - some of the best years.

Hi Lenny,

I think I remember you - did you have blonde hair and always wear a black leather biker style jacket? You are from Artance, aren't you?? I knew some of the people you mentioned, Gillian Shiels  - think she went to school in Killester. Helena Kinsella sounds familiar too.

Does anyone know the following?

Sean Mulvey, Ronan O'Reilly, Denis Barry, Ger Doyle, Paul Barry, Eddie Cullen, John Cullen, Susan Finnerty, Clodagh Brewer, Elaine McEvoy, Siobhan Chaney, Lynn Cullen, Niamh Kelly,

Hey, thatplaceisshi*t  - I see you were asking about Rory McCann - did you know him? Is that Rory that lived on Tonlegee Road with a pony tail?

he had an overlap or undercut (depending on where you are from). I havent heard some of those names in probably 10 years. I wonder what they are all doing now.
John Cullen got married there a few weeks ago.
Fiona O'Sullivan is missing from that list.

Fiona O'Sullivan as far as I know is in Australia married and sh*t...although I could be wrong. Another name that should be on the list should be Natasha Ryan aka Rashers... Anyone see her about?

Does anyone on the Forum remember or know a Mary Yates.

Mary spent all her time on the stage at the Grove hanging around behind Cecil. I went to the Grove with Roundabout Too and ExArtane head for 4/5 years religioulsly every week-end and Wednesdays when its was on and I swear this girl was never on the dancefloor. LOL.

Jaysus maybe she is a member ..........

C'mon Mary let yourself be known !!!

Hey Thisplaceissh*t,

Sorry, I knew Fiona O'Sullivan, used to go to school with her, but couldn't remember her surname that's why I left her off the list. She had red curly hair right? and had a younger sister who went to the Grove too from what I can remember.

I heard John Cullen was getting married alright, can't remember who told me though. He was a bit of an old flame back in those days. Long time ago mind you.

Do you see any of those people around these days?

What about you, what are you up to these days?

Hi Underagedrinker , what years did you go to the Grove??

I went to Mercy too but loads of years in front of you.   I left in 1981.

I was a Grover from 1979 to about 1982.   I loved the place.  The names I remember are

BJ McGuinness (an old flame of mine!  I actually met him about 5 years ago and he hadn't changed a bit) and all the lads that used to hang out with him, JJ (a big tall lad), Willie O'Reilly, Mick McPartlin, Robby, Emmet, Declan, there was always a huge gang of us down near the dividing doors.   It was so long ago now, I can't remember the rest of them.

Does anyone remember any of these names or maybe some of them are members?

I used to hang aroun with a Cathy about the time or just before you were a Grover...she was from Bonnybrook..god..my memory is knackered...can't even remember her second name..but always had a soft spot for her...see how fickle I am..hehehe!!

Don't recognise those names..but Willie O'Reilly rings a bell...was he a tall guy with really curly hair..?

My mate Eugene would know these names I'm sure..have to get him on here...I'm terrible for names...great for faces tho...

Anyways..I'm off home...here comes the weekend...yee haaar!!
