Hi, trying to track down an ex from 1983. Her name is Maeve Donnelly and she lived in Portmarnock, behind Tomangos. Met her in the Grove in mid-'83. Haven't seen her in 27 years. Anyone know her? I'd love to say hello and catch up. Believe she is still in the area. Joe Doyle

Hi Joe,
That was during my time at the Grove. She probably went to Tamangoes afterwards too, don't know her but will ask friends still in Dublin and see if anybody knows her.
What school did she go to??

Check out Dondon.

He's Gerry Donnelly and he may have a connection to Maeve.

" Have You Seen Her" - The Chilites

Oh, I see her face everywhere I go
On the street, and even at the picture show
Have you seen her?
Tell me, have you seen her?

Oh, I hear her voice as the cold winds blow
In the sweet music on my radio
Have you seen her?
Tell me, have you seen her?

Why, oh, why
Did she have to leave and go away (oh, yeah)

Oh-oh-oh, I've been used to havin' someone to lean on
And I'm lost
Baby, I'm lost (Oh)

Oh, she left her kiss upon my lips
But left that break within my heart
Have you seen her?
Tell me, have you seen her?

Oh, I see her hand reaching out to me
Only she can set me free
Have you seen her?
Tell me, have you seen her?

Before you post the link I suggest you consider if it is really suitable for the sensitive souls on this site. We have seen you out of your tree when headbanging and some who saw it were scarred for life! Perhaps youl will do a greek dancing demo live at the reunion?

And why did you post under this topic?

Sorry to hear that Joe.

Am sorry I can't offer any advice as 1983 was way after my time there.

I guess lot's of Grovers went their way and are living their lives.

And probably don't even know about this website.

Joe, keep the faith, you never know.

Hi Jen,

Maeve Donnelly went to St. Marys in Baldoyle. She did the leaving in 1984. You see the problem is that I know she lives in portmarnock, upper end near Dunnes Stores, but that's all I know. Then there's the problem with maiden / married names, she could be going by any surname now.

Regards

Joe

Posted By: Biker Pat
Date Posted: 22-August-2010 at 15:02

Here's a suggestion.

Why don't you call around to houses near Dunne's Stores and ask if anybody knows a family named Donnelly?

Have you looked in the phone book?

Look, as you said yourself it was 27 years ago.  She is more than likely married now possibly with a family and may not appreciate 1. you turning up  on her doorstep and 2. her name being bandied about here.

And remember, she will have changed as it was a long time ago.  Maybe its time to take of those rose-tinted glasses......

Reality strikes but I have to agree.Sometimes the past is better left where it is..in the past.
