Now that I come to think of it Limewood was a Grove stronghold with Lar Lesley and all his gang, serious rockers

Sharon Casey is my sister who now lives here in Perth also. Haven't seen Carl for a while but have caught up with him a few times over the years here. This small world is starting to close in on me now, scary.......

Got it in one Donal, this site has thrown up so many mad coinidences over the time I've been involved, doesn't bear thinking about.

And on this continues..

I don´t know the above girls or your sister but Celine used to walk home with a girl called Alison Hogan. She and two others came to Manor House from St Eithne´s..they were a Deirdre O Carroll and a Lorraine Cross..there was also another girl called Anne Marie Lambe and an Ann Brennan..what about a Gwen Hollingsworth and maybe a Sara Evers..all hit the Manor in my year from St Eithne´s as far as I can remember..would be Tonlegee and Woodbine ladies..

I went to St. Aidans on Collins Avenue. Still there, beside DCU, but the original school has been rebuilt. Well known past pupils include Bertie Ahern and Liam Brady. Bertie got one honour in his leaving which was in accountancy (he could really use it now !). Brady was expelled for playing soccer when he should have been playing GAA !

Hi V,

I went to O'Connell's. You guys were great neighbours, although I'd say I left school well before you.

Greendale may be closed-ish, but Michael Woods is claiming personal credit for keeping it in te hands of the department to be used for "educational purposes". Spot the election gimmick.

But, this morning found a photocopied newspaper article had been posted in the door rubishing the good doctor's claims, with plenty of quotes from the principal of Greendale, but also quoting Senator Liam fitzgerald. Who co-incidentally was unhappy at Woods not allowing a selection convention in dublin North-East.

Presumably not from that same source, but certainly some from of counter electioneering. Ah, the rough and tumble of political life.

I'm searching for that cash I should have saved for the crash

Teresa,

So only getting back to you now was down in the sunny south east for a little break (missed a holiday to Spain got ill could not travel) but it all turned out well.

What were your sister in laws name ? I loved that school there was a fantastic encouraging atmosphere there ie everyone has a talent in some shape or form (regardless of how thick you were - it was a culture shock after Holy Faith)

Hope you are better - best regards to Irish Mamm - is she counting the days ?

Teresa,

By the sounds of things I imagine they were way after me, just hope they have some good memories - Isnard (nun) from Kerry was there my time she was awfully awfully but a heart of gold and a great teacher.  She rang me years later to say she was in the Clontarf area & could she call?  Naturally, I said pop in for a cuppa.  She duly arrived, all in her cream garb, my 2 & half year old was drawing with markers at the time along with paint - guess the rest, she looked like Joseph & the amazing.........multicoloured - however, she took it really well.  Another one there was Celsius, for devillment we put an enormous bra in the oven towards end of term - she opened it to take out some cakes and couold not contain herself laughing.

At the time the whole ethos was - correction does much - encouragement does more - & boy did they encourage you. Dont know what it was like in later years, would have loved my girls to go there, but their friends were going to Manor Farm so off they went.

Went to one reunion it was a happy / sad occasion some really nice people very sad stories.  Only other contact was they asked me to give a chat on studying abroad which I did - the young people are great and so much more with it than we were.

Are you better?

V
