I was wondering where everybody got their username from ?

Mine is easy.

My name is Pat and I drive a large motorbike as my favourite hobby and have always had a love for driving a motorbike.

Hence Biker Pat

Be interested to know what's behind all your usernames.

Maybe there's a funny story .....

Biker Pat

Went from Jan 90 - April 91...

Crusty's been my nickname since 1st class in primary school. Simply
because I didn't eat the crusts off the bread, I always left them behind on the
plate. It's that simple, but it's stuck with me for 24 years.

I wanted to pick one based on a Grove song (and somehow 'Paranoid', ‘Psycho Killer’ & 'Lay Lady Lay' didn't really give the right impression).  Off the top of my head, I thought Lola was a nice enough name.

However, on recent closer inspection of the lyrics I suddenly realised the connotations –

"But I know what I am and I’m glad I’m a man, And so is Lola"

(I'm female!).

MMMMmmm….must have a think about changing it.

Biker Pat, I think you deserve an award for being the most enthusiastic board member and trying to encourage interaction on the board!

On Usernames,

Someone in school ( David's,Artane ) used to call me Rolo and I met him for the first time in about 10 years around the time I joined the site. Just revived memories of my Grove years 1979 - 1986.

On areas , originally Artane , now Killester. ( Very adventurous you see.)

Anyway, looking forward to Sunday Night. Missed the last two through no fault of my own.

Rolo.

i'm fairly sure it was none other than crusty himself christianed me mozz back around 1989 & it's pretty much stuck ever since or at least i still use it as my username login most places. other mates call me moe or use my christian name proper but i always liked mozz. always fancied it as a hybrid between moss {for maurice} & ozz{y}, he the prince of darkness. crusty?

My name was made up in haste coz I was in work (like now) and not supposed to be on the net, but to be super busy and efficient (like never).  Don't really like it but it was what I came up with under pressure.

I'll second Lola's praise of Biker Pat, the board tends to be quiet most of the time..........more discussions needed!

Love the eejit part.

It reminds me of a time I was in Memphis with my Bro and a pal and we were heading back to out hotel and still negro guy stops us on the corner and ask us where we wuz goin?

He looked like Huggy in Starsky & Hutch and was just kinda funny.

So he asks where we're from and when we told him Ireland he asks us to speak some Irish.

Then he asks what his name in Irish is. I can't remember his real name but we told him his name was "Amadan". Insert fada over last A.

He thinks this is great and asks how to say "I am Amadan".

So we told him, "Ta me amadan". Again insert fada's.

Off he goes as happy as larry shouting "Ta Me Amadan"

I nearly wet myself Embarrassed

Drink taken Wink

Come on guys, give us all a few more background details to your usernames.

May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

How about sharing the origin of your user name?

Hi Pat,

Noodles is Robert De Niro's character in " Once Upon A Time In America ",which, although many people say is too long at 4 hours, remains one of my top movies.

Noodles.
