"Slippin and Slidin/Big Fat Woman" - Tom Fogerty (Johns' brother).

Off Tom's album with band "Ruby"

May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Begod Pat, you've been busy since I've been away!

Like that slippin and sliding by Tom Fogerty - nice Southern rock sound, lovely guitar. Will work backwards through the stuff you've listed before putting anything else up...

Like the Neil Young/Shocking Pinks stuff. I think this was an album he had to make contractually for Geffen or something, he wasn't that pleased about being forced into it, hence the nature of the stuff he did ? My memory of all that might not be accurate though...

Gerry. Think you're bang on re Neil Young. Still I loved that rockabilly album he did with the Shocking Pinks.

Proved once again how versatile Neil Young can be.

Just came across this absolute beaut from many moons ago (1970) by Chicago. Track is called "Listen", it's from an album I used to have called "Fill your head with rock". Some of you fellow "Golden agers" might remember the record: https://youtu.be/mHyBt7Lg5l8

Gerry.

Never really knew much of Chicago's music but I really like that track.

Cheers Pat. See a "new" Cream album has just been released. Some of their old stuff for a new audience maybe. Here's one I really like, from 1966, live, its "steppin' out": https://youtu.be/yGJSKFZWM8M

that's the one Frank, nice one. Do you still actually have the album (and is it in as perfect nick as the photo suggests?)

I think I said in an earlier post, I lost quite a few seminal albums (well, seminal from my point of view) to parties, loans/swaps, the odd house move etc. Of course, who' s sorry now?! You could sing it ... Oh, wait ...

I didn't have it myself but my mate did .

We used to decide what albums we wanted and I'd buy one and they'd buy some others thus we'd have the best of both world's .

Good system Frank. Myself and my younger brother had something similar going. As our tastes were a little different, we each got exposed to slightly different music, but would collaborate where mutually-agreed music was needed ...

Heartening to see Al Stewart in amongst those brilliant artists on that album, lads. As some of you know, I've always been a huge Al Stewart fan and "A small fruit song" is a pretty early track by him - long before his very well known albums like Year of the Cat and Time Passages hit the shelves.

That was one of the formative albums for me Mel, helped shape a direction, but also a bit of eclecticism in what I listened to. Anyway, apart from all that, here are some master musicians and a song: Traffic, and "Pearly Queen" https://youtu.be/SHRpRzXzTHg

And another good one for yis! A slightly lesser-known Zeppelin track, it has one of the best titles I know - the whole story is in the title: "the girl I love she got long black wavy hair". Just magnificent https://youtu.be/cqs3hw0rgpc

And, as it has already been mentioned by Mel, why not this Al Stewart masterpiece, a song of genius by a genius: "year of the cat": https://youtu.be/cqZc7ZQURMs

Just played that now Frank, was out most of day from early. Really like it, whole trippy, spacy vibe. Excellent. Reminds me of Space Oddity a bit - I don't mean it's in any way derivative, just the whole feel of the thing ... Very enjoyable listening.

I stuck this up on the Facebook site just now for some mad reason. It's a bit long, but I think it rivals eg Freebird for southern rock/multi-guitar-ish ness - or something! See what you think. It's The Outlaws, with "Green grass and high tides": https://youtu.be/R82OM5tzcrk
