Music our Kids like

I start it off..

Some of Brads taste has comes from some of my stuff I play in the car, also he hears a lot of good songs from playing his PS2 games and then hears them on the radio. Some of the songs he likes are from the likes of U2, AC/DC, Alice Cooper, and Thin Lizzy. Bands/Songs he got interested in himself are the likes of Coldplay, The Killers and Green Day.


Brad a big fan of Spin 103.8fm. Everytime we get into the car he switches the station on. I have 6 pre-set buttons tuned in to radio station' button 5 is Spin and button 6 is Phantom. When he is flicking through the stations he always skips number 6 because he knows if there is a good song on it I will want to listen to it(sneaky git winder where he gets that from)

I bought him a 2 gig MP3 player in Aldi's about 2/3 months ago and I think I need to bring him to the hospital and get an operation to get it removed of him . He constantly listening to the radio on it.

unfortunatly my daughters taste in music comes from disney and hannah montana etc but shes only 9 so theres hope for her yet!!! but my son loves rock music due to travelling to games for hours on end with me and having led zep and neil young drilled into him!!! i got my taste in music from my dad and i think ultimately we all end up loving our parents taste in music. well i know i did anyway! but i suppose the fact he loved cream and the kinks made it easy for me

Sarah, & Laura are into "Bowling for Soup" (try on you tube - great lyrics) all thats in the car is a couple of their cds.
 Laura was into Avril Lavigne, but has moved on to HIM, Evanessence, Greenday, Nickleback. Sarah also is into 50's stuff (not sure where this came from) Musicals, Alanis Morrisette

Rachel listened to Pink Floyd in the car on Friday and declared it was her favourite band!!! at only 5 yrs old she's developing good music taste like her mammy!!!!

Our 2 still listen occasionally to stuff I compiled for their 1st cd ages ago -  Val Doonican, Rolf Harris, Peter Paul & Mary etc - stuff I would've heard on the radio when I was their age.
However when they're pottering around, they'll be humming Smoke on the Water, and lots of Dylan and Led Zep etc. - I'm afraid I have to blame the parents.

Just cause it was on the radio didn't mean U had to listen to it....LOL

I hear "New Kids On The Block" are making a comeback.

my daughter is coming up to 15 and is really interested in Music, which is great as we have some common ground for us to talk about, though she does think that she knows more than me! the cheeky pup!

She is emo at the moment, and likes bands like fall out boy, panic at the disco, good charlotte etc

She goes to a few gigs, now that some of them are allowing in 14 year olds and not having bars open in venue. She went to see Linkin Park with her mates and 30 seconds to mars. Its great picking her and mates up after the gig as they are so excited still. its lovely to see the enthusiasm for live music.

plus our house is full of music, cds and lps everywhere, and bizarelly she buys her own music, sometimes she will download songs and sometimes she will buy it in HMV etc.

I have brought her to some gigs like Green day, Avril Lavigne, Pink, Him, Good Charlotte etc but thankfully i dont have to anymore, though I will say green day were great fun.
