Used to get the 103 bus from Whitehall and get off the stop just before the Beachcomber pub. There was a little grassy area along there with an electrical generator thingy surrounded by trees and thats where I used to get hammered before the Grove. Ah savage days

Ah flumphy,

You'll have to visit your little spot again on the way to the reunion.

Flumpy, you will probably have to fight for a spot now on the grassy area now word is out.

I remember knocking back some vodka in the boys/mens jax behind the stage thinking I was so cool until Barry came crashing in.
Like an eejit I forgot that the big window in the cubicle looked out on the queue, Barry must've seen me and spoilt the party.
I was barred 'til Easter.
Luckily for me it happened sometime in march so i didn't have long to wait for my Grove fix.
Getting barred did wonders for my reputation though
They couldn't hack it

Seriously...is ANYBODY having a swift one in the Park first?

(Maybe the idea of it sounds better than the reality of it)

I remember Jimmy Redmond (we remember Jimmy Redmond, right? Don't think he visits here unless incognito,or under a username I don't know) once said 'Don't know which I prefer more, going to the pub before the Grove,or Knacker Drinking before the Grove...'

Good on ya Jimmy.

Jeez, thats a name I havent heard in a while, Martin...not sure about actually having a beer in the park first though...late December knacker drinking was never the most comfy 20 years ago, dont think I could do it now...

You're right.

Last I heard of 'Redser' he became some sort of landlord or something (wouldn't go as far as saying Lord or Earl) but it sounded like a big thing-inherited land in Galway or Mayo or somewhere???

Well known in the park on Sunday afternoons...

Hey you...

Macker-the Inevitable Spoon singer?

Jimmy Redmond ... curly bush hair, yes, sometimes long grey coat, other times denim with Black Sabbath embroidery.Little brother called Eugene-started hanging around the park in Jimmy's wake.

Can't think of anything else-other than he was like everyone's friend-really nice guy.
