Loved the choices of music on this show with Jon's master of sparkling wit thrown in. I always enjoyed the talking parts of past shows more than the classic music tunes but this was a bit different, both sides were very entertaining...even a few tunes that I was not familiar with and never quite made it big on this side of the pond.
Great work! Thanks. The old David Byrne/Talking Heads intro also made it for me. He's been beating the same old horse with his songs over the years but they never really get old for me. I saw him live back in his Brazillian music days and didn't really appreciate his non-Heads stuff but I would pay to see his new "Utopia" show on Braodway (same as his traveling stage show of late but bared down to percussion with a couple of guitars thrown in. |

Tuned into this link and heard the first two songs and conversation. Then just as Cecil is asked about taking time off etc....my link just slows up and after 10 mins I gotta give up. Now am on my phone so going to try on laptop later. |

Thanks Brian, I really enjoyed the music and banter last night, fair play to you, Jen and Lynne.
(The Stranglers cover of the Kinks song completely caught me out! Van Halen also cover the song in, I think, their first album (I'm sure lots of others did as well), but the Van Halen one was a heavied-up version, with a bit of messin in the middle, couldn't be mistaken for the original...) |
