Only Grove Reunion in 2008

Due to a change in circumstances the Grove Easter Reunion will be the only Grove Reunion in 2008. 

That's a pity Crusty, but an rud is anamh is iontach (what's seldom is wonderful) as they say

Sometimes seldom is much more appreciated & supported that too often and taken for granted.  As for the great Cecil & Andy - they too must have a life and great ones - Happy Days & great Easter everyone.

Yes, it is a pity, but all things must pass, it's better to burn out than fade away, less is more - whatever way you choose to see it, I've been thinking long and hard about it and I feel if the Grove Reunions are to continue at all it will be on a once a year basis. That way it will be more special. I hinted at it at the Christmas reunion and I feel the moment is right to make the change. No particular reason apart from the fact that it just doesn't feel so special anymore, there's no sense of occasion anymore (at least not the way it used to be) - too much of a good thing etc... Cecil's totally with me on this. I really don't want it to die so I feel this is the best way to give it new life.
After Easter, the next reunion will be 2009 somewhere a lot closer to it's home (Clontarf). Keep an eye on the site for more info.

This is not the beginning of the end either. This is just the next stage. There will be other Grove related activities throughout the year, just no reunions. Think of it as a breath of fresh air - Fresh air is a good thing!

Not totally surprised at the announcemnt to be honest  from talking to Cecil the last few weeks.  Cecil was wondering has it run it course, as I said to him I don't think it has. The only thing with me is since it moved into the The Button Factory thats special feeling of going to the Grove was gone, it feeling like it. I know I said it when it was first suggested about the Grove moving into town, I said the Buzz of going won't be the same, and it wasn't the same. With the Sheiling it felt it felt right Button Factory was a great venue, but it was never felt like the Grove.

If I'm to be totally honest, Coming up to this reunion I wasn't overly excited or looking forward to it and was seriously thinking of giving it a miss, haven't bothered to get a ticket yet. The reason why is what I said above I don't enjoy then as much because of the location of the venue.

I do agree with maybe cutting the reunions down  to 1 or 2 a year. I think the reunion at Halloween would be the best one to continue with. Its the one people enjoy and getting dressd up etc etc.

With all the other other "Grove" events during the year that will help us with our "Cold Turkey"
